Priya DeBerry is a multi-genre violinist born and raised in the heart of Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Her musical journey began at just 9 years old, when she started classical training through an after-school program — a foundation that would shape everything that followed. Though rooted in classical technique, her love for music quickly expanded across genres, with gospel holding a special place in her soul. It was in the church where it all began, and to this day, Priya remains a devoted musician within that sacred space.

Music in the DeBerry household was never a solo act. Performing alongside her four siblings as The DeBerry Quintet, Priya found her earliest motivation and training ground — a family stage that pushed her to sharpen her craft and dream bigger. Those years of playing together forged a discipline and passion that ultimately led her to pursue music full-time. Before making that leap, however, Priya earned a Dual Bachelor's Degree in Biology and Health Science, Society and Policy, proving that her ambition was never limited to a single calling.

Her skillful technique and powerful music interpretation have taken Priya far beyond Brooklyn — to the stages of Madison Square Garden, Lincoln Center, and the World Famous Apollo Theater. These aren't just venues; they are milestones that speak to the caliber of artistry she brings to every performance. Yet for all the spotlight, Priya's heart has always pulled her back home. Her deep sense of community led her to Medgar Evers College Preparatory High School, where she channels that same passion into teaching both science and music to the next generation.

Throughout her journey as a musician and educator, Priya developed a profound desire to help others discover their purpose and reach their fullest potential.
